Using RPG to query ldap and return an email address

Can I, from an rpg program, use the system i user id to query my ldap
directory (in Domino running on another system i) and retrieve that user's
email address?

I've tried various searches here and on the net and I found an article
here written by Joe Pluta

I'm guessing/hoping that I can add the system i user id to the list of
short names in the person document on domino.

I've coded the program, but am not sure how to go about specifying the
parameters used to return a user's email address.

Anyone ever done this?
