It would appear that Bryan would need both OUTQTRG @ $499 and SPL2SPL @
$199.
While I don't about that it'd be relatively easy to write your own
code for this specific need. My guess that rolling your own
generically with equivalent functionality to Brad's would take a
while longer.
Figuring $70/hr (pay & benefits) Brad's tools only need to save you
10hrs to pay for themselves.

Bryan,
Just off the top of my (balding) head:
1) Create an new output queue, say DUPPRINT
2) Create a data queue
3) Associate it to DUPPRINT
4) Send your print file to DUPPRINT with SAVE(*YES)
5) Create a NEP program that checks your DTAQ and send it (CHGSPLFA) to
midrange-l@xxxxxxxxxxxxdesired printers.

I thought it would be a slam dunk myself! Is it not a commonthat
requirement in system i shops to send the same spooled file to two

configuring devices or queues as I'd hoped and must be done
programatically.

I tried doing that with a remote (since all our printers are set up

You can start multiple print writers for the same outq. We do that
for 2 Zebra label printers that are side by side.happens
STRPRTWTR DEV(ZEBRA1) OUTQ(ZEBRA)
STRPRTWTR DEV(ZEBRA2) OUTQ(ZEBRA)
Whichever writer is started first gets every spool file, unless it
to be busy printing a previous spool file. In that case the next
handlingfile starts writing on the 2nd device. Ta da! Two printers
builtthe
devicesame outq at the same time. Works great.
There is no 'rule' that says the outq name has to match the print
ancients -name.
