Just shut the system off, unplug it, and remove the battery. Leave
it off for 5 minutes before reinstalling. The system will think it
is a new battery. The battery life timer will be reset so the
battery may/will fail unexpectedly, but for a toy, well you judge if
it is acceptable risk. You must have something else going on beside
one failed drive.
1. Can you remove the drive from the ASP?
2. Can you end the RAID-5?
3. Are you running RAID-5 or was this drive part of a mirrored pair
and the other drive is already gone?
