Well, the BP'll have to eat that bill. The reason my boss and I still have
access is to check on the machine and run any reports are whatever that the
owner needs for taxes and such. When I finally logged in myself at the end
of February, I noticed the drive went south back in November! It's a simple
matter of checking the qsysmsg queue, which I had set up years ago. Plus I
told 'em, before they picked the machine up, that it needed a new cache
battery (well, the amber light was on, anyway) and that they ought to turn
off the light.
No, I don't know what the owner is paying these guys, but I'm definitely
going to let him know that he shouldn't pay any bill for the repair.

Thanks for the verification, Jim. Once I found out who was doing the work,
frankly, I didn't have a whole lot of confidence; he used to write programs
here as a consultant before I came on full-time. How much faith can you
have in an IBM i programmer who writes new code in RPG II?
