I once read someone ask if someone had 20 years of experience, or, did
they have 1 year of experience, repeated 20 times? You can compare this
to someone who has moved from RPGIII to ILE including free format,
subprocedures, service programs. And also has extensive experience with
SQL. Has some knowledge of HTML, CSS etc. Interfaced RPG with Java to
take advantage of things like updating Excel. Has extensive use of RDP.
Worked with EDI. Has upgraded OS numerous times, kept up with PTF's. Has
attended numerous conferences, volunteered, and spoken.

Now, compare that with someone who has worked on the same A/R package all
that time. Written and kept in RPGIII. Barely knows most of the function
keys in SEU. Rushes home to catch the rerun of Beverly Hillbillies.

Who has 20 years of experience and who has 1 year of experience repeated
20 times?

Companies look for a broad, but in depth, background of the first person.
