If you are on V5R4 or higher try WRKJOBLOG JOBLOGSTT(*PENDING). You may have a large number of pending job logs.

Also do WRKSYSSTS and check the pulse there. Perhaps POST that here in the forum. Can often see things to cause more questions. It was mentioned MASSIVE amounts of spooled files. Could be important.....

Ok: What problem are you having?
- Slow system?
- Full system?
Why are you telling us the number of spool files? That's why I asked
the second question. Or is it only slow when trying to look at spool files?

Common trouble shooting steps when the system suddenly slows down:

- Disk cache batteries.
Do WRKDSKSTS, F11=Display storage use. Do any of them show Degraded?
