I thought of that (which is not available on releases prior to V5R4) and the
CRTDUPOBJ option that Larry mentioned, but it sounds like the OP has data on
media or in a Save file. I don't see anything on the RSTLIB or RSTOBJ
commands that would allow this. Not even a "filter" option such as on the
CPYF command.
Of course, the OP could RSTOBJ the file and then CLRPFM, but I'm guessing
that he's thought of that and that the file in question is rather large and
that disk space seems to be at a premium. That's only a guess, of course.
Anyway, if that guess is accurate, I can only add that I've been there. I
had the luxury, if you will, of having a window during which I could remove
files or libraries to make room for such a restore, do what I wanted, and
then restore the deleted files or libraries (I did mention that I saved them
before removing them, didn't I?).

Is there any way to restore just the file structures of files in a library
without restoring the data too ? The only way that I know to do that is to
restore the files with the data then save them with the
STG(*FREE) option. That could require a lot more disk space than is
available. Surely there is a less painful way to do this.
