I'm not sure if this is related, but my iPad doesn't have a HOSTS file, so I always have to use the internal IP address to hit my IBM i server from from iPad, and NEVER include the PORT; just let the AnctionTech outer handle HTTP port forwarding.
I wish iPad supported HOST files for domain name routing.

I have the most unusual issue and since I am a total noob in the Apple
world, I am not sure if it is a setting on the iMac or an issue with the
IBM i itself. Here is the issue:
I have a laptop (windows), my IBM i, and an iMac all on the same
physical network and subnet. Laptop is at 10.0.10.24, iMac at
10.0.10.26 and IBM i at 10.0.10.205.
I have multiple web sites hosted on the i with addresses NAT'ed and port
mapped by a Windows ISA Firewall. A specific example is
opensourceoni.com. That domain points to my ISA server and ISA maps
that to the internal address of 10.0.10.205 and port 9095 which is
running Tomcat (yeah, I need to change that default page) .
On my laptop, internally, I can hit either opensourceoni.com OR I can
hit 10.0.10.205 port 9095 and I'll get the web page. On the iMac I can
ONLY hit the external site URL. If I try 10.0.10.205:9095, Safari
eventually times out with a "Safari Can't Open the Page" error.
If I fire up Tomcat on my laptop at port 9080 , I can then go to the
iMac and type 10.0.10.24:9080 and bang! I am on the Tomcat page served
by the laptop. Checking to see if it is a *NIX issue, I pointed the
iMac at a server that runs Asterisk and FOG and both web interfaces will
display. If I point the iMac to the HTTP Admin page on the IBM i, it
times out with the same error! The iMac CAN get to both the VIOS and
AMM web pages. So there is something fishy about the iMac and the i...
Wondering if this was an Apple conspiracy, I went ahead and tried the
same internal, i based web sites on my iPhone. They also won't display.
So the question at the bottom of all this is: Have any of you Mac folks
run into this? Is it that Apple hates IBM or is it something about
Safari on an Apple OS? Safari in windows displays all of the web sites
just fine.
