Good idea. That directory is Mimixed to another lpar on a different box

I would strongly suggest copying the save off the IFS to some other
system. Odds of an issue are low but it would be bad if the files you
needed to rebuild your HMC were in the IFS of the system you also needed
the HMC to define.

Yeah, I am really wondering about that...
Does a save ever count if you've never restored from that? :-)

Now, going through a rebuild of an HMC via the mapped IFS I have not
done,
not sure how robust/complicated this would be.

Really close to that 4.7GB size of the DVD

If you did not get an error message of some type, like invalid
user/password, could not connect, I think you are good. Our backup
to
local partition takes 15-20 minutes, and to an offsite box +30
minutes.
I
do not believe it writes out to the disk until near the end, but I
might
be wrong on that.

I'd guess I'd feel better if, after 6 minutes of watching
The backup of the HMC console data is in progress. This
operation
may
take a considerable amount of time.
Backup starting...
I could see something, anything, with WRKLNK '/rob/hmc/*'
