This is NOT a 'respin'. It's more like a group ptf. So, no you do not
get a new I_BASE. But you bring up a good point. Often part of a major
'technology refresh' is to support new hardware. So, how do you get that
loaded right on the new hardware? Well you could try ordering a new
respin. But I would ONLY do it this way for new installs, or, for 6.1 to
7.1 type upgrades. I would NOT do it this way for upgrading someone
already at that release to the new technology refresh. See:

But for upgrading someone already at 7.1 to the new technology refresh I
would simply order SF99707.

SF99707 includes MF99004. The special instructions for MF99004 include:

Therefore IBM seems to going way back to AS400 days when you had to IPL
twice to apply ptf's. So I would

APYPTF LICPGM(5770SS1) SELECT(*ALL) APY(*PERM) DELAYED(*YES)

Then load and apply this technology refresh including another IPL

Or you could get really stupid like I did and try
SNDPTFORD PTFID((SF99707 *ONLYPRD *ONLYRLS)) PTFPART(*CVRLTR)
and think that would only download the coverletter. Now I am stuck in:

Either that's one Mother of a cover letter or it ignored that parameter
and is downloading data anyways.

It downloaded several ptf's. Their whole save files and all. As shown in
my WRKPRB.

Type options, press Enter.

I just want to cry sometimes. I suppose now it's my fault since I didn't
specify ORDER(*PTFID).
The benefit is that I could read the cover letter for MF99004. (As shown
above.)
