I hear this requirement all the time and my SPLTOOL software will do
similar to this, an allow you to also remove standard headings. This
way when you open the text file in Excel, etc you can tell it to use
the columns (blank spaces) as the separators. And it won't get
confused if the headings are in the file.

Now, on the other hand I personally don't like the idea of converting
a spooled file to csv (or another form of data). Why? Well, it's a
picture of the data, and if you have the actual data available it's
much easier and more reliable, I think, to use a program or even
query/SQL to create a temporary file, convert that to CSV and go from
there.

But, I do hear this request often and normally this is my response. :)

It's been a while, but the STMF parameter can probably handle it. ESEND
definitely can produce a *TEXT file that you could name with a .csv
extension. Then, you'd end up with a one field file.

It sounds bizarre, though, that the requirement is for a .csv file type. One
would have to assure there would be no commas in the data, wouldn't one?

I don't think ESEND converts reports to .csv only files or views. Reports
have a few formats they can be converted to like .pdf, or .rtf,. but since
there are no defined fields in a report, It won't convert to .csv

What is the Help Systems product that does this?
We have Robot, so I just thought I'd ask, in case it's something I could
utilize.

Both RJS and Help Systems have products with this capability.
