Well, I'm "signing off" for the day, but I would suggest that you define
your date formats in your program and in your %DATE. That way you shouldn't
have problems ( I hope :- ))

I just made a small test programs as per your case. Defined a file with:

A DATE01 L DATFMT(*DMY)
A DATE02 L DATFMT(*ISO)

My RPG program processed both dates correctly when using H DATFMT(*ISO)
I always define my %DATEs and DATFMT, as sometimes I prefer to be very
explicit in some statements (sometimes using default values seems to me as
leaving things to chance, and a little risky).
