Read up on Join Logical files. You can join physical files in that way.
I do not know if it will handle 20 files though. Still, you can join.
Keys need to be the same length, but that can be done too.
One other thought that crosses my mind is to write a simple, quick,
program that, when called, fills a table of your own design with all of
the data. Then in any program that needs these lookups, you can call
your new program in the *INZSR and fill an array in your program and as
a result have really fast response times, and whole lot less coding.
