I think what you'd want to do is configure the report as 8.5 x 11...

Then look into doing booklet printing.... that allows you to print
multiple pages onto a single sheet of paper... The i has a MULTIUP
parm on the printer file that controls this. Depending on how the
printer is connected, you may need to play with the work station
customizing object.

Trying to do it as 11x17, you'd need to adjust your report to print on
the right hand side...

I am trying to modify a report that uses overlays. In its current form, it's just a normal report(8`5 X 11) with a backside overlay. It will be different (assuming it's possible).

What I am attempting is to change this report so that it will be (11x17). This would probably be better as 2 reports with overlays, but the concern is losing 1 of the pages(this will go out to service people)

So if you imagine 2 8`5 x 11 pages sitting next to each other. On the front side will be on the left an overlay and on the right the report. On the backside will be overlays on both the left and right.

Now assuming I can get this to work, I then have to get it to print in the correct tray of the printer. The copier/printer I'm current testing on has tray 1(11x17) tray 2(8x14) and tray 3(8x11) It has been configured with priorities or something to make tray 3 the primary tray as it should be.

What I have done so far

Modified my AFP printer to change form size to 11x17
Created the overlay for the backside.
Created printer file with a length of 66 and a width of 160

I cannot get the overlay to print anything and I can't seem to get it to printer from the correct tray.

Any thoughts on how to get this to work?
