i Frank,
Actually, we ended up going with BSAFE. You are correct, it is cheaper than
owerTech, and easier to use than NetIQ. The only functionality we lost
witching from NetIQ was a weak password report, and that stops really working
roperly in any case once you move beyond max10 character passwords (I would
ove to know how NetIQ did that, I guess something with the Retrieve password
PI).
Anyway, I personally am pretty happy with BSAFE, it was easy to install, very
asy to set up exit point controls and it has pretty good reporting. Nice easy
UI too. The company is now called Enforcive by the way.
Thanks

Hi Adam, what did you end up going with? I've use NetIQ b4 and it was excellent
nd resolved authority issues automatically. I assume powerlock/powertech is
ust as good and may be the industry leader now since many of the NetIQ
esigners and support have moved on...many to Powertech. BSAFE and whatever
arol developed is also a good alternative (and probably cheaper than the first
). I ask you a year later because I figure you made your choice and we might
e going to finally purchase one of these products for security so any info/help
ppreciated.
Thanks, Frank

Hi Everyone,
I'm just interested in any comparisons or comments people may have
regarding experiences with the NetIQ suite of products (PSAudit, PSSecure
etc.,) and the Powertech products. If anyone has used both I would be
interested in which one you would recommend, or even if you think one has
advantages in one area and the other in another area.
