SPF lets them specify, by domain name, where emails originate. As long as they configure that properly, they should be fine. The IBM server would either have a public IP address or NAT to a public IP address or relay all the messages through another server. Wherever that public IP ends up needs to be listed, in some fashion, in the SPF record.
