Thanks for your interesting observation. Our users refer to ours as the
JDE server (JD Edwards), as JDE is the primary application on our IBM i.


In my sessions, I ask this question: Should the users even know the
server name/brand?
No one calls gmail by its server name - everyone uses the name of the
application. So, if we were to > attempt to educate the users that there
is no longer an AS/400, shouldn't we take this opportunity to > start
recognizing the applications by the name of the application, rather than
the hardware or the OS?
