looking at the YiPS site:

http://www.youngiprofessionals.com/wiki/PASE/OpenSourceBinaries

I see that their wwwinstall.sh installs the version of bash that you are using.

I posted here:
http://code.midrange.com/ce4667ab41.html
a copy of installSVN.sh that i got *somewhere, that installs version 4.1-4 of bash.

I suppose you do not need all the pieces parts included so pick and choose wisely

I have 4.2.10 installed, I supposed I installed it in the same way from here http://www.oss4aix.org/download/RPMS/bash

> bash --version
GNU bash, version 4.2.10(1)-release (powerpc-ibm-aix5.1.0.0)

Hi all,

I am trying to install a utility in PASE on IBMi (v7.1) but it is
failing because it states bash version 3.2.25 is required. Running
"bash --version" via "CALL QP2TERM" states I am running the following
version:

GNU bash, version 3.00.16(1)-release (powerpc-ibm-aix5.1)

Anybody know if it is possible to upgrade the bash version on IBM i?
