Much of DB2 LUW applies to DB2 for i. Not all, but recent years have
seen many additions to our DB2. Even if a particular technique isn't
currently supported with our syntax, seeing it done /at all/ is
informative, and gives one ideas on how to go about the same process
using our syntax.

But more than that, there is quite a bit of education in there, too.
For example, look at the chapter on OLAP. If someone were to explain to
me what OLAP does, I probably wouldn't be impressed enough to try to use
it. Graeme starts out with a simple query and gradually adds to it
until it's easy to see how OLAP can be applied to a given class of problem.

And that's the specific value I get from this book.
