That's all well and good, I guess, but frankly I think the whole
"preferred location" thing is pretty bogus. I mean, it's not how
people who use floats want to see floats. To even think in terms of
"places after the decimal point" means you really are thinking in
(fixed) decimal terms, not in float terms. And if you're thinking in
decimal terms, just use a decimal type already.
