Our SPLTOOL Suite Software will do what you want, and a lot more than just
creating a PDF. You can add PDF overlays, merge multiple PDFs into one,
and also email, FTP or store them in the IFS in one easy command.

I think you'll also find our pricing is much lower than our competitors and
we don't charge extra for support, maintenance, etc. That's all included
in the license price.

If you're interested contact me offline and I'll work with you to see what
would fit your needs. We don't bundle everything together in one big
package. Instead, we have each function a separate piece of software so
you can mix and match exactly what you need.

If you want to see the video I suggest you submit web feedback to get IBM
to fix it. Somewhere on the site is a "Contact" link.

Transformation Services 57xxTS1 is a freebie on 6.1 and 7.1. Don't worry
about people running V5R4 and earlier, support for that dies in September.

Subject: Generating a PDF?
Sent by: midrange-l-bounces@xxxxxxxxxxxx

Some years ago, I wrote a set of programs for one of our customers, that
generates a packing slip as a spool file, then ties into a product they
already have (Gumbo Spoolmail) to convert that to a PDF, apply an
overlay, and email it.

I've just been asked to do something similar here. Although I'm not
entirely thrilled at the Gumbo Spoolmail angle: it's not exactly cheap,
even for our processor group (P05), and I recall, the color fidelity of
overlays is not exactly thrilling.

What other solutions are there, these days?

Did I hear something, not too long ago, about PDF generation capability
now being built into the OS?
