The VIEW has the RCDFMT kwd so keeping the same Record Format Level Identifier should be possible without creating the file first with the RcdFmt name and then renaming to the desired name.

The bigger issue would be for loss of K-spec in a VIEW; i.e. a VIEW can not have a key field. An OPNQRYF ODP could effect that however.

I do not recall ever using the FORMAT keyword in the DDS, but I suspect [from my recollection of what it can effect] that using that kwd will not be able to do what is implied by the intention alluded. The FORMAT() parameter on the OPNQRYF however, that should work to do what is alluded; but of course, at run-time, not creation-time.
