With apps on the host, you may run into times where you may need to bring
the host down for some reason. This means bringing all the LPARs down.

This brings up that fact VIOS doesn't need a OS License so it can run on
unused cores. Since I am a 'i' guy and not much into AIX, I like IBM i on
IBM i from the admin side of things. But if cost is a concern, then maybe
using VIOS is a better solution.

Now lets throw in the MIX of using IVM vs HMC. Depending on your needs, not
having to purchase an HMC,, may offset the cost of a core of IBM i

All of our hosting lpars are not dedicated to just hosting. They do other
work also. Why wouldn't you want to? You're paying for IBM i so why not
use it?
