You can IPL from a fiber attached tape drive, no CD needed.

Is the tape drive standalone or a tape library. I've seen this issue if other tape drives have non load source volumes mounted. Make sure only your load source volume is >>mounted.

There are two fiber attached T10,000K-B drives. Good thought but I need to IPL from CD if I need to boot off a non load source. Since they're fiber, the system can't talk to them until some part of the OS is loaded, off CD.


Just heard from the Operations manger, they where having trouble IPLing off CD..

They are going to try a new RAID card.. waiting for it to get delivered. In 5 hours.
