I have a 170 which needs a 2838 adapter in one of my spare bedrooms, but it
hasn't been cranked up for a while...

Thanks for all the replies, I do appreciate it. I've got a bit of a
better idea of what I should study. It's going to take some time no
matter what, but I guess I'm having "fun" working with my system in the
meantime. Nothing says weekend fun like a complete system restore?
And yes, thanks to Eric Lehti for the 3487 console :) I've already had
so much awesome help from a lot of folks this list.
What got me interested in midrange systems in the first place? My dad
(Clay Carley III), always being a programmer of some sort, introduced me
to the AS/400 when he worked at Jack Henry in the late 90's. The spark
came when I was looking for a "new" laptop to replace my very old
Thinkpad. Searching the local craigslist for "IBM" came up with the 170
that now lives in my garage.
Thanks again!
