They got jobs outside of I.T. when things dried up.  They are not
programmers anymore.


The secretary of our local user group (former RPG programmer) returned to interstate truck driving.

I tend to view RPG as a niche, but IBM i on Power lies in the App Server / Database Server market which is rather broad. Unless you compare it to something like the commodity Web server market. There's always some overlap.

However, I'm not satisfied with the share that IBM i holds in the App Server / DB Server market. We need to help it grow.
