Sorry about that folks, my email system does that periodically (unfortunately it happens to be Lotus Notes Webmail). I believe it has something to do with using a browser other than IE, though I have started noticing anomalies when using IE 10 with a Notes application as well, but not yet in the webmail application.

FWiW I do not recall if this has pointed out here before [I seem to
recall sending a private reply]... But messages with just the one word
"undefined" appear periodically throughout the archives; several times
in a month in some cases. If there was an intent to provide some reply
with text\comment, the archives are missing whatever input was attempted.
Whether people receiving emails via the list or only the digest see
an the actual text... I do not know, because I use the NNTP interface
which received only the above "undefined".
