This is only one way of many to create a view ...

Do you have access to System i Navigator ?
1. Open System i Navigator from your windows pc (a Windows 7 workstation is MY point of reference)
2. Click on the connection to your IBM I (iSeries)
3. expand the 'Databases' node
4. expand the database name (your system name)
5. expand the schemas node to see a list of your data libraries (you will want to put your view in one of these libraries and preferably the library where your physical table resides)
6. in the lower right panel of the System I Navigatior click on 'Run an SQL Script'. A new window will open for you to enter sql statements
7. On the menu click on 'Connection' then 'Connect to Database'
8. In the window that opens, click the drop down arrow on system, select your system
9. Click the drop down arrow on Database and select your database
10. On the menu click 'Edit', then click 'Insert from Examples'
11. Select a 'Create View' example
12. and then you are on your way...

Subject: WRKLNK

I started to use the WRKLNK. It asks for Object and Object type.

If I want to make a view as we have been discussing, what do I enter for these?

I am trying to create a view that the Crystal reports will access.
