Hi Alan

Happy to oblige - hope it is useful.

Here's something from the Access for i site - links to examples, mostly -

http://www-03.ibm.com/systems/power/software/i/access/windows/toolkit/data_queues.html

There is a Programmer's Toolkit option when you install Access for i on your PC - that has help text, but mostly for VB or C++ environments - not sure how it would apply to Crystal Reports.

There is the Redbook described at

http://publib-b.boulder.ibm.com/Redbooks.nsf/RedbookAbstracts/sg245183.html

You might find this in Infocenter -

http://pic.dhe.ibm.com/infocenter/iseries/v7r1m0/topic/rzaik/rzaikoledbprovider.htm

I found that by searching for IBMDA400 there.

I don't know if any of this will tell how to do this in Crystal Reports - have never tried it. But it might give a start to an intrepid explorer!

Vernon,

Could you post the link to the documentation that covers this general topic?

THanks

The OLE/DB provider lets you work with data queues. If CR can use OLE/DB
providers, it might work. Documentation says it is a destructive read -
that is, all entries are read. You can't do one at a time.

How would Crystal use a Data Queue? Requires programming logic to access.
Just having a Stored Procedure return a result set works perfectly and is
fast.

We have been discussing \changing from Logical files to Stored PRocs using

What about the use of Data Que. these were always considered the fastest
way to send data out of the AS400?
