I've submitted three DCR's today.
1 - Get QNTC to respect Domain Search List like PING does.
2 - Get DIG to respect Domain Search List like PING does.
3 - Get NSLOOKUP to respect Domain Search List like PING does.
In addition to a much earlier request to get Domino to respect Domain
Search List.
We're rolling out a new internal domain: corp.dekko.com. Our old one was
dekko-1, which plays hell with closed proprietary systems like Linux and
their disrespect of standards. Our IBM i's are in corp.dekko.com and our
PC's are still in dekko-1.
You can't do WRKLNK '/QNTC/MYPC' if MYPC is in a separate domain from your
IBM i unless you do a MD '/QNTC/MYPC' first. Even if you do have a domain
search list set up in CFGTCP, 12 like
Host name . . . . . . . . . . . 'GDISYS'
Domain name . . . . . . . . . . 'corp.dekko.com'
Domain search list . . . . . . . 'dekko-1 corp.dekko.com dekko.com'
Frankly there's piss poor little that respects the Domain search list.
And you can't do this:
WRKLNK '/QNTC/MYPC.mydomain'
which I am loathe to do anyway. Because by the time I did our network
consultant would deem it a fine time to finish the domain migration and
move them all from the old domain to the new domain.
