  FWiW: The optimal access method for the DB2 for i is the /sequential/ 
access, using the /arrival/ access path, except when the query can be 
implemented using /index only/ access method [which is AFaIK, a method 
available only to the query engines].  Often, but not predictably, the 
result set of an unordered query will reflect /arrival access path/ of 
the table-reference.
