I must admit that I have little experience with LAN console (or HMC for
that matter.)
Back when I did day to day admin, we had a twinax console.
However was doing some stuff this weekend and notice that the LAN console,
both 5250 session and remote control panel would disappear when the system
was powered down.
I was a bit surprised at this, I expect the remote control panel to remain
available. Especially since I know the service processor in a IBM x86 stays
up when the system is powered down.
Is this working as designed or is something not right in the system?
9407-515 running 7.1
Thanks!
Charles
