You're saying your system doesn't have pico? That's unfortunate. How
about nano?

I applaud your persistence/fortitude/whatever it took. vi is not for
the uninitiated. Great editor, mind you, but takes a big investment
in time and adjustment of mindset to really get it working well.

For anyone who isn't prepared to put in that investment, I strongly
recommend pico or nano, if available. (Actually nano is better than
pico, but if your system only has one of those, it will probably be
pico. For beginners, those two look and work the same.)
