My question is for those who use Thunderbird.
Why am I able to submit my original message via Thunderbird as
paultherrien@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx, but when replying to postings on
midrange.com via Thunderbird thunderbird is using my google account?
Obviously it is a configuration issue, but annoying.

TB is both an email client and a NewsReader client. The former usage
would enable messaging using the "email List" and the latter usage would
enable messaging using the "News Server". Each will have a
separate\distinct TB _account_ established, from which to compose and
reply to messages.
Are you possibly composing email messages to the list [the addressee
is an email address; defaulting to "To:"], and later using the
NewsReader [possibly to read messages and then] to perform "reply" [the
addressee is a "Newsgroup:" name; instead of "To:"], but the NewsGroup
_account_ is configured with an "Identity" using your Google account?
That is, perhaps, the email _account_ is setup for the desired email
address, but the News _account_ is setup for the other\Google email
address.? If so, then modify the _account_ "Settings" to establish the
desired "email address" for the "Identity" associated with that
NewsGroup account.
