SELECT INTO is not the statement that will put data into a PF from running a SELECT over a view - it's a way to bring a SINGLE record's columns into host variables in a program. It can only be used when embedded into source code.

Just so you know, one of the big hints is in the message - valid tokens listed are only one - the colon - this is needed before a host variable.

So either take Dan's suggestion to insert rows into an existing table, or use Rob's CREATE TABLE ... WITH DATA - you might even be able to set the CCSID of that table in such a statement. It's all in the documentation.

As to being complicated - well, your question really didn't have enough for me to give an answer - it could have been any of the situations I listed - seriously!

vern, its not that complex. I want to take the results of the view and load
it into the PF. I have spent so much time on this issue I just want this
user off my case already. I cannot change the system value for CCSID so I
have to do this under the table.

how do you code this:
Token ASTCCDTA was not valid. Valid tokens: :.
===> SELECT * INTO astccdta.acbalmpk
FROM ( SELECT LMLTPC , COALESCE(IRLOC1,'')
as IRLOC1 , COALESCE(IRLOC2,'') as IRLOC2 , COALESCE(IRLOC3,''
