Scott,

I believe that the stored password in the Excel connection is saved within the Excel file. When the Excel spreadsheet is opened the database connection is made automatically with that old password. Try starting Excel without opening the spreadsheet, disable macros, and then open the spreadsheet file. Open the data menu and doctor the connection as needed. Enable macros. Right click in the data area on the spreadsheet and refresh data.
