... we didn't have DB2 Multisystems, it's rather expensive and we didn't find anyone using it - and I suppose it might be some kind of Beta; its based on a sort of DDM and I don't think, it''s adding scalability. A very important feature is the parallel database feature especally for Buld SQL statements. Comparing DB2 on as400 to other databases (As author of ArdGate, I have some experience with diffrent databases) it's not real fast for complicated queries, but it is very easy to fly with big tables and under heavy workload it's getting slower, but it doesn't crash.
There are two things I don't like: save while active does not work well with heavy transactional workload (it's a nightmare) and database navigator seems to be more a toy than a real tool.
