Depends on what you mean by "software". Your applications should run
pretty much the same. Installing OS is going to be different if you've
never worked on a multi lpar machine. I am thinking that you're going to
gain some familiarity with something called VIOS.

If you've ever configured a guested partition of IBM i you're going to be
somewhat familiar with virtualized disk. With multiple lpars you may be
somewhat familiar with virtualized lan. With PureFlex most of the
hardware is virtualized by VIOS to the partitions.
Instead of internal disk, you'll have a SAN supporting your disk. I am
getting the impression that this is the future wave.
But I've not physically laid hands on the beast.
