here is an ebay auction for an 8203-E4A IBM I backplane
http://www.ebay.com/itm/IBM-46K7784-4-2GHZ-Single-Core-Backplane-for-8203-E4A-Power-520-Server-53DE-/141023468474?ssPageName=ADME:B:SS:US:3160

Is the backplane the part of the 8203-E4A system that differentiates it as
an I or P?

Can an IBM I backplane be installed in an IBM p 520 8203-E4A? Would the
resulting system run? What would it boot as? P or I ? ( there are many
more 8203-E4A system p systems being sold on e-bay than there are such
system I systems. )

thanks,
