What does the WSDL look like?  

Arrays of arrays (should) pretty much just boil down to embedded multiple XML elements by the time it gets transmitted. 

You might also be able to use one of the simpler protocols, like REST, or even JSON, though that is of course, highly dependent upon what you are doing.
