Rob, DSPPTF shows:

5770999
##MACH#B ##SERV#T
V7R1M0 L00

My ref to 5761XW1 was from a web search
because I use i Series Nav heavily and may
want to move to Web version ?

Thank you, the extra info helps me
see where we stand.

Ops mgr says he will get latest RDP vers
for pgmrs after he gets latest ptf's . . .

"IF", and that's a bold IF since you mentioned 5761XW1, you are running
7.1 then, yes, you should be VERY concerned.
Start out with DSPPTF. At the top of the screen do you see
5770999
##MACH#B
V7R1M0 L00

Or do you see 5761999 and V6R1M0?

If you see 5770999 then, yes, you should get your PTF's upgraded.
If you see 5761999 and V6R1M0 you really should get your whole OS upgraded.

See:
http://www-912.ibm.com/s_dir/sline003.NSF/GroupPTFs?OpenView&Start=1&Count=30&Expand=1#1
Match that with WRKPTFGRP.
And, TR6 will be replaced with TR7 shortly.

Rob,
WRKPTFGRP PTFGRP(SF99707) PTFGRPLVL(*LATEST)
Returns:
(No PTF groups found.)

Should I be concerned (I'm not ops mgr, just pgmr 3) ?

IBM i 7.1
5770XH2 *BASE 5050 IBM i Access for Web

Now, there's a big difference between the above product (which I have
installed but have never attempted to use) and ... Oh, I forget the Nom
dujour and it wouldn't help explain it to you anyway. Let me just refer
it to you as
http://youribmi:2001
If you're at IBM i 7.1, and
WRKPTFGRP PTFGRP(SF99707) PTFGRPLVL(*LATEST) shows you at ?6? or higher,
then
http://youribmi:2001
should look much different than that same url did prior to the recent
TR's.
It will now have much of the function (or more) than 57..XH2 did.
At this point I see no purpose for using XH2. Well one poster mentioned
the web version of 5250 is not yet available at the 7.1 version of
http://youribmi:2001

So, if my system is V7R1, and I don't see 5761-XW1 in the
Installed Licensed Pgms, i Access for Web is not installed ?

The web interface is a great improvement. I think IBM should put all the
team to improve it, leaving the old navegator alone. I'm sure userd will
go to the web without need to be forced, like happened between the green
screen and the graphical but prone to problems and hard to support
navegator.

Rob,

Most definitely.

Just as when Navigator for i "replaced" the green screen, IBM has
announced that the functionality of Navigator for i is now frozen. There

are already things popping up in the web console that are not supported in

any other way. A customer of mine recently pointed out a new option in
the Advanced Job Scheduler that only exists in the web console version.

I also prefer the ability to access the system using a browser from
anywhere. Although it has not happened yet, I fantasize about fixing a
system problem from an Internet cafe in Paris. To save further posts from

those who know me well, I'll admit that the fantasy here is me fixing a
system problem, not visiting Paris.

Cheers,
