Oh! Found an ever better one from AS/400 Lic Tasks Appendix c:
RmTmSafeTask -> A timer task that services LIC timer function requests that are not handled by an interrupt handler task already in main storage.
I guess the question is still unanswered ......

On one server we see process RMTMSAFETA using loads of CPU (190% !) this appears to be slowing the system down to a point where it is almost unusable.
