Well, your PRTERRLOG is a good step.

IDK about that tape drive but I think LTO cleaning tapes have a chip in
them that says their only good for ?50? cleanings.
Try a new cleaning tape.

What does a replacement drive go for on the used market, half of the
shipping cost?

I assume the glib answer of upgrade the whole kit and kaboodle would not
be appreciated, eh?
