Hmm. Now THAT's interesting.
I go to all the trouble of front-ending DeleteLocalReferences for
DataBaseMetaData objects, and I find that if I DO delete the old one
before getting a new one, everything I call on the new one blows up.
Turns out that so long as the connection is alive at least, I'm actually
getting exactly the same object reference (F11 in the debugger gives me
"844884664" both times), that I'd just released to be garbage collected.
