So it sounds like you have dedicated adapters for your Linux install. I
ran into a similar situation when we were looking into our VIOS lpars. I
found I needed up manually update the firmware on the fiber IOA cards.
Coming from a world where that process is insulated from us, it was
strenuous getting the right levels and reading up on how to do it.

That said you may want to look at fix central.
Use "select product" and find "power I/o firmware". Find the feature code
and your off to the races.
If in there you should find directions for install.

Apparently there are firmware fixes for Linux that I wasn't aware of,

I guess this makes sense. We have this really old installation of Suse
Linux that they are trying to finally utilize the extra disks I put in a

few months back and they're thinking it might be because the firmware on

the raid card is rather old. The consultant was asking me if it's ok to

upgrade the firmware on this raid card.

I always like those "do you have a spare raid card laying around in case

this goes bad?" type of questions.
