We are currently using m-power by mrc-productivity to do dashboards,
grpahing, and GUI views over our DB2 IBM i databases. While this product
is not cheap, it has provided us a way to get up and running very fast with
a GUI interface,
And the development is kind of fun!

We run manufacturing on IBM i.Currently, we are putting in place
features which will provide users with quick view of orders being worked on
at various statuses.
They would like to have graphical quick view of these statuses. So all
levels of managers on same page so to speak, how many orders in this or
that status etc.
I am asked to do this in Crystal reports, or SAP Dashboards. I just went
thru doing the SAP Dashboards (Xcelsius) trial version, and let's just say,
the desire to work with this thing is not there... However SAP Dashboards
has a nice feature of publishing as mobile app. Never used it though.
And I know crystal reports graphs are not that great. I really think that
this is a need for browser interface. I would suggest writing in C# using
Dev Express but this will be costly for them I think.
Does the cost come into play? sure. The SAP Dashboards full blown will cost
about $2500.
Can you suggest other product which can be quickly learnt and be able give
them the browser quick views needed.
