I am so glad that I opened up a ticked with IBM instead of just trying
these suggestions.
One important thing is that the entry you have in
CFGTCP
12. Change TCP/IP domain information
For example,
Host name . . . . . . . . . . . 'GDI'
Domain name . . . . . . . . . . 'corp.dekko.com'
Must be in
10. Work with TCP/IP host table entries
10.17.6.144 GDI
QGDI
GDI.dekko-1
GDI.CORP.DEKKO.COM
I added that last entry.
And my javacore dumps showed me that I had a lot of tracing going on. The
cure for that was:
Edit the /qibm/userdata/java400/SystemDefault.properties
Comment out:
#com.ibm.as400.access.Trace.file=/tmp/toolboxtrace.log
#com.ibm.as400.access.Trace.category=diagnostic,information,error,warning
#os400.run.verbose=true
by adding the # prefix you see above.
Then I ran
ENDTCPSVR SERVER(*HTTP) HTTPSVR(ADMIN)
But after 20 minutes some of the admin* jobs were still running. Running
ENDTCPSVR SERVER(*HTTP)
instead killed the other ADMIN* jobs.
Upon
STRTCPSVR SERVER(*HTTP)
I had very reasonable response time. Ok so 13 seconds may seem long, but
it sure beats 4 minutes!
