There is a distinction to be made, however.

A carpenter will go to the builder and tell him that the air-nailer is a 
"must have", and will make the case that it "pays for itself." The 
average IBM i developer, however, does not do this with RDi. (Some do, 
but they are the minority.)

Another distinction...  the carpenter is able to continue to use both 
tools, the regular hammer and the air-nailer, and use whichever is 
easier for the task at hand.  Nobody is trying to 'deprecate' the hammer.
