You know? People are hardier than you give them credit for.
Infor (formerly known as BPCS) changed their file structure around
mightily when they went to some version of LX. Size of the item master
jumped from 15 characters, etc.
If they can do this, which affects a LOT of relationships, others should
be able to get by.

I'm not saying this is something you want to do on a daily basis. Because
there IS some work involved. Limited screen real estate is just one item.

And, yes, I have worked with systems in which the original file may have
been ABC and then added fields went in to ABCA, then more came along and
they went into ABCB, and so on. Try to explain that to users when they
create queries.
