Having just done a MAJOR system move from one set of racks to another with 28 of these drawers it's not hard to miss. Step one, look at the front of the 5887s, if all GREEN all is good. If a yeller is lit then go to the back. Next stare carefully at the LEDs next to the power connectors, if two green (stacked) then that PS is good and has power. If a yeller is lookin at ya then you have a PS running it's fans from the other PS and the power is likely disconnected. Plug it in and give it about 3 seconds and it will go green.

Sadly on the Power Systems 5887 drawers there is no strain relief/cable retention option so they do get pulled out far too often.

All LPARS called home this morning, SRC10001510 followed by SRC10001512.
SRC10001512 was indicating a bad power supply in one of my 5877 PCI drawers.

Once the CE was on site, and started the HMC FRU wizard, first step was to un plug power from the failing power supply.

Well, the plug was already unplugged.
Power supply was not bad.
Embarrassing

A maintenance crew accidently dislodged the plug when installing a new rack directly next to the i5 rack.
I wish I would have taken a closer look, but with all the cables in a small area, I'm not sure I would have seen it.

Thank You
